Conversation starters

Have you ever wanted to be able to walk up to a girl and have her attention form the first instant with a great conversation starter? Or maybe you simply don’t want to get blown off when you try to talk to new people. Whatever the case the opener to the conversation is going to be the crucial part of the interaction that answers her questions of “Who are you and why are you talking to me?”.

A good opener should be non-threatening and have a reason for bringing it up.

Where I live people play a game (as kids) called “Duck, Duck, Goose”, but some people call the game “Duck, Duck, Grey Duck”. So an opener I’ve used that has opened every time I’ve used it is : “Hey guys, I was just talking about this with my friends. When you were a kid did you play ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’ or ‘Duck, Duck, Grey Duck’? I played Grey Duck but my friend played Goose. How about you?”

It’s a great opener because it’s non-threatening, you tell them why you are asking, and it gives people a reason to talk about something that will (hopefully) remind them of their happy/fun childhood.

Try digging out some of your old chestnuts and see what happens.
